They are young, hip and—by all accounts—among the best in the business. When
you need a photographer and you want the pictures to be stunning, Ryan and
Carrie Phillips of Ryan Phillips Photography should be your first call.

Vibrant personalities, consummate professionalism and magazine-quality images
define this pair’s offering. “Ryan is probably the most talented
photographer I have ever seen,” says a prior client. “They are rockstar photographers,”
raves a bride. “I can’t say enough wonderful things about them.”

Ryan’s credentials are stellar. He began shooting professionally as a teen,
working for his father’s photographer friends and contributing to South Florida
magazines. After graduating with a BFA in Photography from the prestigious
Rhode Island School of Design, he went to New York where he worked with some of
the top names in the business, handling a celebrity clientele and gaining
experience across a wide range of genres. When he moved to the west coast he
switched from fashion and advertising to focus primarily on editorial work for
major commercial magazines. “I was working so much, I burned out,” he remembers.
That’s when he shot his fist wedding. “It was actually a friend’s wedding,”
he laughs. “I loved it. Everyone was dressed up, the venues were amazing and I enjoyed every
moment of it.”

It was Carrie, who he met shortly thereafter and to whom he’s been married
for six years, who convinced him to focus on weddings. They were an internet
match made in heaven and so was the business they built together. It wasn’t long
before savvy couples started beating a path to their door. Their style is
contemporary, updated, cinematic, and they’re always clear about how to handle
every phase of the day, going in with a plan that will meet clients’ needs and
tweaking it to mix perfectly with the energy and spirit of the occasion. “They
know what they want and they know how to get it,” says a videographer who adds
that their subjects always seem relaxed and at ease. “I didn’t even notice
Ryan or Carrie were around,” confirms a bride. “There was at least one picture
of each and every one of our guests and we had 180.” “The whole day was an
absolute joy with them!” declares another.

Most important, Ryan and Carrie know how to make their clients look good.
Their fine blend of topnotch commercial experience and sensitivity create an
unbeatable combination and their images are so arresting they often end up in
major print publications. “One thing that it’s important to know about us is that
we’re perfectionists, “ says Ryan. “We work hard to deliver an outstanding
product.”

Another thing that is very important to them is relationships. That’s why
they concentrate on documenting the most meaningful events of family life:
engagements, weddings, maternity, parenthood and children. “In a lot of businesses
you don’t really get that involved with your clients,” says Ryan, the proud
father of a two and a half year old. “This is different and that’s why it’s
easy to love it.” “We want to make our clients and their family and friends
happy,” insists Carrie. “We are part of their lives.”
